State Research Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

a programme of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Ministry of Education, Science and Culture provides research funding to support the development of the research landscape at the state's scientific institutions. Research funding instruments include establishing centres of excellence by focusing on priorities and funding leading-edge research.

At its office in Warnemünde near Rostock, Project Management Jülich supports the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with the implementation of its funding programmes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. The aim is to more clearly define the state’s profile as a research location.

The targeted use of funding for key technologies with promising prospects for transfer to industry aims to provide new impetus for development of the state. For this reason, projects are funded which are established on an interdisciplinary basis and in which scientific institutions work together with private sector companies if possible. In this way, the scientific prerequisites are to be refined and research ideas are to be given quicker access to the market. As a result, the research funding also indirectly contributes to creating jobs in existing or in newly established companies.
