The Research for Sustainable Development (FONA) Framework Programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aims to initiate and support sustainable development in business and society. Sustainability research closely links economic development with the preservation of the natural resources which provide our basis for existence. This funding approach is also characterised by holistic considerations, the involvement of decision makers, and a focus on application. In addition to pure project funding, the framework programme includes specific dissemination and anchoring strategies.
